My Daughter's Music
to Samantha, Age Three
by Pamela L. Laskin
You hear it
and you're off,
swirling in the air
with fluid quickness
like a dolphin
squealing with delight
at the rhythms
of water
I don't hear
nor can I keep up with;
so I watch
listen
to the wild dancing in and out of waves.
